Group services into categories

Organise a long service menu into named groups like Colour or Beards, so customers find what they came for faster.

A menu with six services reads fine as one list. A menu with twenty-five reads better in groups: Cuts, Colour, Treatments. Categories let you organise your booking page exactly like your in-house price list, and they change nothing else - every service keeps its own price, duration and settings.

Creating your first category

The quickest way is right where you edit a service: open any service, find the Category field, and choose + New category. Give it a name (a short description is optional), and the service is in it. From then on, every service's Category field offers your groups.

You can also start from Catalogue, Services - once your menu passes eight services, you'll see a gentle nudge there.

How your menu changes

  • Your booking page and website show each category as a section, in the order you set, with its services listed underneath.
  • Services without a category appear at the end, under an "Other services" heading.
  • If you have no categories, nothing changes at all - your menu stays a single list.

Managing categories

On Catalogue, Services, each category is its own group with a menu of actions: rename it, add a description, move it up or down, or remove it. Reordering a service moves it within its group.

What happens to services if I remove a category?

They stay on your menu, exactly as bookable as before - they just move out of the group, back to the ungrouped list. Removing a category never deletes a service.

Do categories affect availability or prices?

No. Categories only change how your menu is displayed. Prices, durations, who provides each service, and when it can be booked are all untouched.

Can a service be in two categories?

No - one category per service, which keeps the menu easy to scan. If a service genuinely belongs in two places, consider which group customers would look in first.
