Automations

Messages sent for you at set moments - and the difference between Ask first and Automatic.

Automations live under Growth, Automations. Each one sends a single kind of message at a set moment: a rebook nudge when a regular is due back, a review ask after a completed visit, a thank-you after a first visit, a happy birthday on the day. You can rewrite any message in your own words - fields like the customer's first name and your booking link fill in per person.

Ask first vs Automatic

Every automation runs in one of three modes:

  • Off - it doesn't run at all.
  • Ask first - when someone becomes eligible, a suggestion appears on your Today page with a preview of exactly what would be sent. Nothing goes out until you press Send, and you can skip anyone. This is the default for most automations.
  • Automatic - it sends on its own, during the day, to everyone eligible. Best for the ones with a message for every visit, like the aftercare note - approving each one by hand would just be busywork.

You can change an automation's mode at any time, and each card says when it sends, in plain words. Every automation also has its own help page in this section, with the details of when it sends and how to get the most from it.

What keeps automatic sensible

  • One automatic note a day - however many automations are on, nobody receives more than one automated message in a day. The rest simply wait for tomorrow. (Notes about an appointment itself, like the pre-visit prep, are never held back.)
  • Each automation has its own quiet period - the review ask won't ask the same person again for months, the win-back won't repeat itself.
  • Marketing messages respect unsubscribes and your daily sending limits, always.
Which mode should I pick?

Start with Ask first - you'll see exactly what each automation wants to send and to whom. Once you trust one, switch it to Automatic. The visit-heavy ones (aftercare, pre-visit prep) are built for Automatic; the personal ones (win-back, review ask) reward a quick human glance.

Can I change the wording?

Yes - every automation's message is yours to edit, and Reset to default brings the original back. The preview shows it with a real customer's details filled in.
