The Takings report shows what actually came in, off the sales your close-outs record - whether the money arrived online or in person. Find it under Reports in the sidebar (owners only).
Pick a range - today, the last 7 days, this month, last month, or any custom dates - and the report shows:
- Takings: every sale recorded in the period. Visit bills with their tips, charged missed-visit and late-cancellation fees, and kept deposits.
- GST: the GST inside those takings. If you're registered, this is the collected-GST figure your quarterly BAS asks for - run the report for the quarter and read it off.
- Tips: split out, because tips aren't service revenue and carry no GST.
- Refunded: money sent back in the period, counted on the day of the refund.
- Net: takings minus refunds.
Below the totals, the report breaks the period down by day, shows where the money came from (visits, fees, kept deposits) and how it was paid (online, cash, your own card machine, bank transfer).
Better or worse?
Each figure shows how it compares against the period of the same length just before it - this month so far compares against the same number of days last month, never a partial month against a full one. Green means it moved the way you'd want, red the other way. A brand-new account sees no comparison until there's a previous period to compare against.
For your accountant
Export CSV downloads the day-by-day table for whatever range is on screen, totals included. For BAS time, set the range to the quarter and export.
What counts, and when
A sale counts on the day it was recorded - for most visits that's the day of the appointment, closed out at the desk or by the end-of-day sweep. Refunds count on the day the money went back, even if the sale was in an earlier period. A sale undone with the Reopen button leaves the numbers entirely.
Cash rounding and edited sales are always reflected exactly as the sale record stands - the report and your receipts can never disagree.
