Where your money goes

How payouts reach your bank, what card processing costs, saved cards, and protecting phone bookings.

When you take deposits or payments through BeNotely, the money is yours and lands in your own bank account. Here's how it all flows.

You're the merchant

When you switch payments on, you connect your own payout account with a short, guided setup in Settings → Payments. From then on, deposit money goes to your bank, not ours. Card processing costs the standard rate charged by the payments provider (about 1.7% plus 30 cents for Australian domestic cards). Everything that has moved through your account, and any disputes, is visible on the Payments page.

Protect phone bookings with a deposit link

A booking taken over the phone can carry the same protection as an online one:

  1. Open the booking.
  2. Send a deposit request link.
  3. Your customer pays on their own phone, and the amount is locked to what you quoted.

A gentle reminder follows if it goes unpaid, so you don't have to chase it.

Saved cards

Customers who sign in can save a card for faster checkout, and a saved card works at any business on BeNotely they book with. Your team never sees card numbers, only that a card is on file.

The rest of the bill

Deposits come off the bill when the customer arrives, and the remainder is paid in person however you already take money. You don't need a card terminal or any extra hardware.

FAQs

A customer says a deposit was taken but there's no booking. What happened?

Almost certainly a released hold: the slot was taken by someone else a moment before payment settled, so the hold is let go. It shows as pending in their banking app, then vanishes. No money actually moved, so there's nothing to refund.

A customer hasn't seen their refund yet.

If the booking says "refunded", the money is on its way. Five to ten business days is genuinely how long banks take to show it.

Do I need any hardware?

No. Deposits and card payments happen online through your booking page, and the rest is paid in person however you already do.
