An SMS campaign is a short text to the right slice of your list - read within minutes, which makes it the channel for "this week" news: a cancellation opening, a flash sale, a reminder that winter bookings are filling. Everything from Send a campaign applies - the honest audience count, the segments and groups, the report - this guide covers what's different about texts.
What it costs
Texts come out of your monthly SMS credits, and the campaign tells you the cost before you send: "Uses about 86 of your 140 SMS credits" - measured on your real message, because a longer message can cost two credits per person. If you don't have enough, it won't start - and if credits somehow run dry mid-send, the campaign pauses and picks up where it left off when you top up.
- Every text starts with your business name and ends with "Reply STOP to opt out" - both counted in the length the cost shows.
- A text that fails to deliver hands its credit back. You pay for reached, not tried.
- Sends go out between 8am and 8pm in your timezone - a scheduled campaign that would land later waits for morning.
Writing a text
No headlines or photos - a text is its words. Fill-in fields work here too ({{first name}}, {{booking link}}), and the counter under the box shows the real length with your business name and the opt-out line included. The booking link in a campaign text is tracked, so the report can show bookings that came from it.
Who can receive texts
The audience count is as honest as email's: it shows exactly who a text can reach and why each skipped person is skipped - no mobile number, an invalid number, not opted in, or replied STOP. STOP is platform-wide and instant; see Texting, STOP and staying welcome.
FAQs
Why did my campaign cost two credits per person?
An SMS is billed in segments of 160 characters (less when it contains emoji or special symbols). The cost line always measures your actual message, business name and opt-out line included, so the number you see before sending is the number it costs.
Can I send the same campaign by email and text?
A campaign is one channel, chosen at the start. To say the same thing on both, duplicate the wording into a second campaign - each keeps its own honest audience and report.
