Your customer list builds itself from bookings, but the people who booked with you before BeNotely are worth having from day one: their history shows on their profile, and your first campaign has someone to go to.
Bringing it in
From Customers, press Import, then upload a CSV file or paste the rows from your spreadsheet. Include the header row if you have one. Most systems can export a customer list as a spreadsheet; copy the rows and paste them here.
Telling us what each column is
We read what each column holds and show you how we read it. A column we can't place asks What is it?: name, email, mobile, and a few optional extras such as their last visit date and notes. A notes column lands as a pinned note on each customer, so it shows on every booking of theirs. Anything we can't place is left out, never guessed.

Once your customers are in, bring your bookings across from the same system: they match to the people you've just imported.
What happens to duplicates
Someone already on your list, matched by email or mobile, isn't added twice, and their profile stays as it is. If the same person appears under two slightly different names, the duplicates review finds them afterwards; see Manage your customer list.
Changed your mind?
Undo an import from Past imports within a week of it. The customers it added are removed, except anyone who has booked since.
In the app
In the BeNotely app, tap ⋯ beside the search on Customers, then Import customers. Choose a CSV file from your phone, or paste the rows.
Marketing consent
An imported customer isn't subscribed to marketing unless your list says so. If your old system recorded that they opted in, map that column and it carries across; otherwise they arrive with marketing off, and messages about their own bookings still reach them. That keeps your first campaign on the right side of the rules. See SMS and consent.
How big a file can I import?
Up to 20 MB and 5,000 customers in one go. For a bigger list, split it into files of 5,000 and import each in turn: nobody comes across twice.
What if I import the same file twice?
Nothing doubles. Each row is matched against your list first, so a second import only adds the people who weren't there.
Some customers still have package sessions from my old system.
Import them after the customers: Services & products → Packages → Import package sessions takes the old system's list of who has which package and how many sessions are left. See Import your packages.
