Elm & Ivy opened in 2019 when Ivy Woods decided Northcote deserved a salon that treated colour like a craft and clients like neighbours. We started with two chairs, a secondhand basin and a strong opinion about toner.

Five years on, the team has grown to four, the basin has been upgraded, and the opinion about toner has only hardened. We're proudly a High Street local: our coffee comes from two doors down, our playlists are argued over daily, and most new clients arrive because someone at a dinner party wouldn't stop talking about their balayage.

Everything we do runs on one rule: you should leave with hair you can actually recreate at home.
